Another Family Falls Victim to the Wii

We finally bought a Wii. We were going to get one for Christmas and then we kept going back and forth wondering if we would ever use it. Then we played it at July and Cory's and at Kari and Clark's and we wondered how we had ever lived without it. So I went on a search to find a Wii anywhere in the state of Utah. That was difficult to do in the month of January (right after Christmas!). But after I called 30 Costco's and 15 Sam's Clubs, I finally found one! Someone had just returned one (unopened) and they would hold it for me for 2 hours. Awesome!

I wondered why we didn't buy it earlier. Seriously, the Wii is such a good price at only $249. Uh yeah, the Wii by itself is a good price, but then when you add everything else you want.......Wii Fit, Shaun White Snowboarding, All American Cheer Team (of course!), Mario Kart (complete with 4 steering wheels), 3 extra controllers and nunchucks, wireless nunchucks (which you need for All American Cheer), etc. etc. I wondered what we had gotten ourselves into!

Then I see how it brings families together and it makes it all worth it. Hey, I may even lose a few pounds. :-)

Happy 2009!

New Years Eve we went to Kari and Clarke's. Lindsay and Shayne came too, and we invited July and Cory, but they couldn't come. We ate a lot of fried goods (mozzarella sticks, jalapeno poppers, fried mushrooms, etc.), deli sandwiches, dips and cheeseballs. We figured we would be starting our diets the next day so we needed to go out with a bang! After we were done gorging ourselves, we played games until midnight. I couldn't believe it, but Charlotte stayed awake until midnight with us. After watching Dick Clark and Ryan Seacrest ring in the new year, we played some Dance Dance Revolution on the Wii. Around 2:00 in the morning, we were all getting tired, so we decided to call it a night. It was fun to be able to spend New Years Eve with good friends.

Christmas in Logan with the Watsons

Christmas Eve Paul and I got to leave work early (that was the best present of all!). We went up to Logan to make homemade pizza's. This has been a Christmas Eve Tradition for the Watsons since they were little kids. We made yummy pizza's and visited and then everyone left for home around 8:00 so they could prepare for Christmas Morning. Christmas morning, Paul and I slept in (which we can do since we don't have to play Santa for any kids). We got up around 9:00 and opened our presents. I got clothes, pajama pants, 2 purses (so stinkin cute!), shoes (also stinkin cute), and I can't remember what else. Paul got a couple Shamwow! (He likes to get at least one AS Seen on TV item for Christmas ever year), Photoshop, clothes, all 3 seasons of Prison Break, Fletch and some other stuff I can't remember (even though I bought them). Then we drove back up to Logan to spend the day with Paul's fam. We got there around 2. We ate a yummy turkey lunch and then opened all our presents. After presents were opened, we read The Polar Express (also a Watson Christmas tradition), watched a video on the birth of Christ and then played games. Kari and Clarke brought up their Wii so we played a little We Cheer, which was a lot harder than I thought it would be. I guess I'm a little out of practice. :-) Paul and I left Logan around 11:00 to face the bad weather home. Sardine Canyon was awful and it took us almost two hours to get home, but once we were safe in bed, I was thankful for a wonderful Christmas day!
