Happy Birthday to Me!

It was my birthday last weekend and I turned 32! Wheel out the old wagons to come get me. We celebrated all weekend starting with dinner at The Mandarin with our friends Lindsay & Shayne and their son Christian. It was a nice surprise to have them come with us! The next morning we met July, Cory, Cayman and Cooper at Cherry Hill for a princess carnival. Cayman was so excited to see Princess Amerah and Snow White. I love this picture of Cayman feeding Cooper ice cream. So stinking cute!!!

That evening we had a bbq and Paul's mom and dad, Kari, Clarke, Charlotte, Alice, July, Cory, Cayman and Cooper were able to come help me celebrate. Paul decorated, the food was yummy and the cake was delicious!!! Red Velvet Cake! MMMMMMMMMM! Cayman and Charlotte were great helpers opening my presents. It was a fun weekend even if I did have to turn a year older.

Race For The Cure

Yesterday was Race For The Cure in Salt Lake. It was amazing! I was stunned by how emotional it was. I didn't realize what the event really was. There were 17,000 people registered for the race. My cousin, Becky, put together a team called "Team Stacked". We wore shirts that said, "In Celebration and In Honor of:" and then we were able to write down all the women we knew who had been affected by this awful disease. My mom was at the top of the list and unfortunately, not as a survivor. She was diagnosed with Breast cancer in 1997 and died in 1999 at the young age of 41. My Grandma Betty (my mom's mom) was on the list as a 16 year survivor! Last on the list was Paul's Grandma Helen, who I never met because she was taken when Paul was 10 years old.

July, my niece Cayman, my Grandma Betty and my Aunt Kathie (my mom's sister) came to the event as well and were all doing the 1 mile walk. It was nice to have us all there joined for the same cause. I was running the 5K with my sister-in-law, Kari and her girls, Alice and Charlotte, who was running for Grandma Helen. As I was walking to the start line to meet Kari, I found myself trying to hold back tears. I wasn't sure why I was crying. I think about my mom a lot and am usually able to hold it together, but I could feel the waterworks just waiting to gush out. I got to the start line and there were Paul and Kari and her girls and Clark. They were getting ready to start the race and the announcers wanted us to yell out who we were running for. I couldn't yell at all. I was just trying not to cry. It was so powerful to be standing with so many people all there for a wonderful cause. The race began and there were too many people to try to run as fast as we wanted, but Kari and I finished the 5K and had a great time doing it. I think we will make this an annual event and next year get my whole family there. I miss my mom terribly and love her so much! Race For the Cure!!!

Paul's Birthday Bash!!!!

Paul's birthday was last Saturday. Paul's mom and dad and my little brother, Ryan and his friend, Nick came down on Friday night to start the festivities. The morning of Paul's birthday we went to breakfast at Denny's courtesy of Lyn and Dave. When you get this group together, it is LOUD, but it is FUN!

Paul thought his mom and dad weren't going to be able to go to dinner with us that night with the rest of the family, so we spent the whole day with them. They came with us to run errands and helped us make homemade ice cream. They even gave him his birthday card.

Little did Paul know what was in store for him that night! At 5:00 I told him I had to take him to pick out one of his presents. We hopped in the car and drove to Bountiful. He kept asking me where we were going. When he spotted this sign, he instantly knew!!

His suprise party at Chuck A Rama! Ever since both my grandma and my aunt had a surprise party at Chuck A Rama, Paul has wanted one. So this year, his wish was granted. Paul's entire family, some cousins, aunts, uncles and some of my family were all there to wish him a Happy Birthday. They were even wearing crowns!

After eating and eating and eating, it was time to go back to out house for cake and icecream and presents. Thank you to everyone who came and for making this Paul's greatest birthday ever!!!!

Easter

The day before Easter, my sister, July invited us to come to an easter egg hunt with Cayman and Cooper. It was freezing cold outside, but we wanted to go. So we met them at the elementary school in Bountiful. I think the sun must have been pretty bright even though it was kind of cloudy because Cayman looks like she is struggling to open her eyes in this picture. So funny!

Cooper didn't want to be left out, so Cory helped him get an egg of his very own.

This was the first year we got to go to the Easter Egg Hunt with Cayman and we had a great time. Thanks for the invite guys!!

The next day was Easter Sunday. It was also Conference. I love General Conference! There is nothing better than listening to the testimonies of our Savior by our Heavenly Father's Prophet and Apostles on this earth.

After conference was over, we went to Logan to see Paul's family. Grandma Lyn gave Alice & Charlotte bunnies for easter and they loved them.

I couldn't get a good picture of Alice, but I thought this one turned out kind of cute.

It was a great Easter Weekend!

Pretty Girls & Pedicures

Yesterday Cayman (my niece), July (my sister) and I got pedicures. This was Cayman's first one and she was so excited. She got to paint her toenails and her fingernails. She felt like such a big girl. The picture of Cayman crossing her legs cracks me up. She is 3 going on 18!!!

I think the finished product turned out pretty good!

We went for ice cream afterwards and it was so much fun to be able to spend the day with just the girls. Thanks Jules and Cayman for such a fun afternoon!!
